‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the land
Not a creature was slurping, except for this man:
Oh, Thomas’ cup was covered in red but bare,
With no signs of Christmas on it anywhere.
The Busses were nestled on top of their house;
For signs of His return they were looking out;
So Timmy with his ‘glasses, and Mike in his cap,
Had just settled on their roof for a quick winter’s nap,
When way up in the sky there arose such a clatter,
They sprang from their chairs to see what was the matter!
“Look up in the sky, it’s a bird, it’s a plane!”
“Oh, that’s just super! Man, that is just insane!”
O’er the mountains in the Arizona sky,
A big, bright star gave a show for all who would spy,
So what to their wondering eyes did appear,
But a 5th wheel camper and a truck in towing gear,
With a little old driver so weary and tired,
Tim knew in a moment that he must be inspired.
Much louder than eagles the passengers cried,
So Tim and Mike asked them all to come inside.
“Now, Caleb! Now, Joshua! Now Isaac and Caiah!
Oh, Bridget! And R.C.! How nice to see ya!”
“There’s food on the table! And room to all sprawl!
Now off to bed! Off to bed! Off to bed all!”
As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky;
So up the driveway another family flew.
With a truck full of boys, and a little dog too-
The Walters had come for some holiday cheer,
From California they searched both far and near.
Carrie and Andrew, oh how they looked pleasant;
With Noah, Isaiah, and Elijah present
The fam went around the house to see what they could;
They stopped in the kitchen for some holiday food.
A bundle of joy they had flung on the party,
But bundles of joy are just getting started!
There’s Shea – how she twinkles! And Kalil, how merry!
The family is growing, see how they’re so cheery!
There are only two boys in their quiver right now,
But soon their mommy will get so big and round;
‘Twill be a brother or sister? Don’t know yet,
But ’twill be a blessing, and we’ll love who they get.
So from Phili, and Cali, and Texas, too,
Arizona and Florida, from us to you,
We thank you for reading our quaint, little blog;
Now go dine with your family and drink your eggnog;
With a wink of your eye and a twist of your head,
May you behold His glory and feel no dread.
For Jesus Christ is born, let us all rejoice!
And stand together and with one, singular voice,
And claim joy to the world for Christ is still King;
Let Him fill us so full that we have to sing
With Peace, Hope, and Love out to all in our sight-
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
