The Bridegroom Calls

The Bridegroom left His bride to prepare a place for her.  Now, His return looms on the horizon.  But His bride sleeps.  She slumbers unaware of so much: the Bridegroom’s imminent arrival, her true identity, his true identity, his call on her life.  His Spirit, His Life, invades the here and now to give His bride breath, expression.  He gives of Himself for Her to live.  He provides His light for her to see Him through the darkness.  The Bridegroom calls out to His beloved, “Stay up with me, and don’t fall asleep!”

The Bride Responds

The Bride senses her Bridegroom.  She hears whispering of His life and His return.  She yearns to be with Him, yet she perceives that something’s amiss.  She feels dead inside, lifeless.  She struggles to remember who she truly is.  She sees dimly through a haze who He truly is.  She begins to relive why she loved Him in the first place and that she needs Him and His life.  The bride responds to her lover, “Wake me up inside!  Call my name and save me from the dark!”

Creation Rejoices

The Bridegroom counters his beloved’s lethargy by sending out those who are aware of Him, and all that He is, ahead of Himself to awaken His bride.  They help to make her ready for His return.  She heeds the call and wakes up!  The bride expresses the light and life of the Bridegroom to all creation.  She declares with one voice that He is the All in all, and every knee bows and every tongue confesses that He is Lord!  The bride’s corporate display of the life of her Bridegroom brings Him glory, and He is satisfied.  The two join together and consummate their love in eternity.  All creation rejoices!  AMEN!

PrintIf this little story stirred anything at all in you, then I ask that you join us in praying for an event coming up this weekend and all God’s people who are involved therein.  The event is called Infusion, and it is taking place in Southern California this Friday through Sunday.  For detailed information on the event, please click the above banner.  The whole point of the weekend is to give voice to the Lord calling to His church to wake up and see Him.  Thank you for your prayers and support!

    R.C. –

Wow! What a captivating vison, this sacred romance. Beautifully, written brother.

Did you happen to record any of the audio from your conference in August?

Trivia: I heard “Fall Asleep” for the first time live at a Jars concert in Knoxville. A new band I’d never heard of called “The Last Bison” opened for them. They were amazing too. Saw you used “Quill” in your 1st podcast.
