Download the audio. I can’t because I am deaf. Only way to read.
I understand it might be long.
Glad hearing people can learn to know Christ as real Vine.

I am sorry that we didn’t consider our deaf brothers and sisters for this post. Next Sunday when we post another audio we will make sure to include something in writing as well.

Are you reading along in the book with us? If so, was there anything in chapter 3 that stood out to you? I would love to talk about it here in the comments with you.

Really like the picture of the huge mountain (God) and a tiny person (us) trying to hug it. How silly that we try to hold on to Him, makes a heck of a lot more sense that He would be the one to hold on to us. He keeps impressing upon me the truth that He has accomplished everything already. He defeated death, do I really think there is something that He needs me to accomplish for Him? Abide in Me, abide in the work I completed on the cross, abide in the joy only I can provide you, abide in My love for you, etc. What a huge blessing to be able to place those burdens on Him – His mountainous shoulders are broad enough to handle them.

Thank you for taking the time to record this audio version. I don’t know which sister was talking about the struggle she had when her best friend was receiving the same spiritual desires that she longed for herself, but that really resonated with me. I could really relate and I’ve experienced the same struggle. I would ask “Why oh Lord can’t I experience body life like a fellow brother of mine”. As I look back I see that Lord was still working and that I needed to keep abiding in Him. It just wasn’t time and I didn’t want to hear it. He was still working in me, teaching me to truly rest in Him.

Yes, brother! Have you read Watchman Nee’s “Sit, Walk, Stand”? He talks about how we must first and foremost learn to “sit” which is resting in Christ and His accomplished work. Nee shares that everything that comes out of the believer’s life must first be from a place of resting. It’s not surprising then that the Lord would take such care to teach us to rest in Him. And He knows exactly what each one of us needs to learn it.=)

I haven’t read “Sit, Walk, Stand” by Nee but I will definitely add it to my list. You are so correct about the Lord teaching us to rest, teaching me to rest, and about what we need to learn. Thanks for the encouraging words and the book recommendation. Larry

Love the photo you chose to sum up the conversation. The lord is meek and lowly yet powerful to accomplish all. Like the ocean in the background of the photo, our liquid lord (living water) takes the lowest place. Humble and lowly yet the waves so powerful crashing on the shore breaks apart the mountain of our bound place to free us through his gentle liquidity washing against us and others in our life to be the eroding forces to truly break us free to become fit for his use to be fitted together in his house in the high place. Abide in and trust His gentle liquid force is shaping you to be/are-already perfectly fit in Him.

Amen!! He is the Glorious Paradox – meek AND mighty; having perfected AND perfecting. What a capable Lord we have!
