Abide in Christ: May 11th

Banyon Tree

“Abiding in Jesus, the Crucified One, is the secret of the growth of that new life which is ever begotten of the death of nature.”

“On the cross the Son of God enters into the fullest union with man”

“When I seek to be one with Him, I cannot avoid the Cross either, for nowhere but on the Cross are life and deliverance to be found.”

The moment on the cross when Christ took on the sins of the world is the moment I entered into Him. I was grafted into Him. He did not take on sin as something separate from me. It was me and it was you. All who have sinned entered into Christ and at that moment He became sin who knew no sin. Two wounds were made that day on the cross. One for Christ to receive me and one for me so I could enter into Christ.

Christ’s death on the cross is more that just dying for my sins, that was only the beginning. Grafting is the process of  what it means when God says “Now the two shall now become one. So whatever I have joined together, let no man separate.” It was unto the newness of life, Christ’s Life. We have been grafted into a person. A real and living person. Abiding is to enjoy the new life to whom we’ve been grafted.  Thank you, for making us one with you Jesus.

It brings a fuller meaning to Ephesians 5:31-31

As the scripture say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the Church are one.

Christ left all to be joined to his wife so the two shall become one which is Christ and the Church and now we abide.

“As I abide daily, deeply in Jesus the Crucified One, that I shall taste the sweetness of  His love, the power of His life, the completeness of His salvation.”
