The Conversation

Who are you? That’s the burning question inquiring minds want to know! This week, meet Mark and Janine Burnett from Terrell, TX. The couple have come a long way in their journey with the Lord and are learning to live by the indwelling life of Christ together with other saints in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  If you like to hear people’s stories, where they’ve been with the Lord, and where they are now, then this podcast is for you! This conversation has been bootlegged from the June 11th To the Saints Radio program, in which they also discuss living by the Spirit and the tripartite man. Check it out at tothesaintsradio.com.

To say hope has been reignited from listening to this podcast might sound over-the-top for most, but not for me. Completely out of IC since mid 2011, with husband finally joining me in 2014. I know God didn’t bring me out to leave me forever on my own, but after all these years, it has been hard to remember that. In our 60s and grandparents, we don’t fit the “typical” raising kids or still single demographic, and 5 months ago left our home of 20+ years in North Carolina to move to this thriving metropolis of DFW, knowing only our children and grandchildren. We know we came at the Lord’s direction, but it has been difficult to envision any kind of ekklesia connections for us. We’re coming to the conference next week, but I was afraid to hope that anything long-term might come of it.

But God! Listening to this podcast renewed the hope – or at least fanned the ember into a little bit of a flame again. Whether we end up part of the fellowship Mark and Janine belong to or not, it was as if God was speaking to my heart what I already knew. “See, there are others in this area like you.” It’s His faithfulness and infinite patience with me showing forth again.

So, thank you for airing this and all your other podcasts. Even in my seeming aloneness, you have encouraged me in Christ. I look forward to meeting all of you!
