Welcome to our twelfth podcast! It’s been awhile, but we’re back with a new “season” of episodes. These are new conversations among saints throughout the Land. We’re glad to be back, and we hope you join us in the conversation.
In the fall of 2010, Bridget and I moved from Oklahoma to Florida to be a part of an organic expression of God’s Family. We left biological, or natural, family to do so. It was heartbreaking, painful, exciting, and totally of the Lord. Three years later, Tyrone and Alison left their natural family behind in Washington state to move to Oklahoma for the same purpose: to be a part of an organic expression of God’s Family.
We four saints are not the only ones to ever do this. Both groups in Florida and Oklahoma have seen multiple families move to be a part of the fellowship. While this is not necessarily common practice, it isn’t necessarily that rare, either. Ah, who am I kidding? It’s pretty rare. Not unheard of, but rare.
So, Bridge and I sat down with Tyrone and Alison to ask them about their experience in moving and discuss our own experience. That was Bridge’s and my plan. Then the four of us sat with the Lord for a few minutes, and he altered our course just a little. Instead of focusing on the move, He wanted us to focus on family.
So, the question for this episode is this:
How did it affect your biological family to move away from them for the Lord?
This is part one of the conversation. The question shifts in focus for part two, as we discuss moving for God and His Family. Have you moved to be a part of God’s Family? Do you feel God is calling you to move? Please tell us some of your experiences and thoughts in the comments; we’d love to hear from you.
