How to Miss the Lord

grandcanyon1

The other night I was walking from our trailer to another. As I walked through the RV park, I was impressed with our Lord. The King of all Creation, the Lord of Lords is choosing right now to do a work in an RV park. But, truly, this shouldn’t surprise. Born in a manger? Raised in Nazareth? A carpenter’s son?

As I walked, I was keenly aware that it isn’t those who can’t climb up to the great heights that miss the Lord. It is those who refuse to lower themselves down that do.

So, how do you miss the Lord? Easy, refuse to become less in the eyes of the world. Demand your high place. Polish your good image.

I am so very glad that the only One who actually has a right to demand the highest place, didn’t. I am so very glad that He lowered Himself down.

My precious Jesus, how I love thee.

………and they weren’t expecting THAT!!!! (see Felicity Dale’s Christmas video post) Yes, we expect our Lord to operate, answer and respond to our preconceived expectations of how, when, where and from who. If the message He is trying to give to us doesn’t come in that expected ‘mold’ then we miss it and don’t ‘hear’ even though He is providing for us and answering our prayers right where we are……and we miss it. How may the Lord be talking to us and providing for us right in the very circumstances of life that we dismiss as ‘not under His control’ or we would not even consider that He would use? I have seen it happen many times, the Lord is providing for a very critical need in someone’s life, right under there noses, but because they have a set in their minds a predetermined way in which He may provide, they are looking far into the distance or up to the ‘experts’ to provide and answer. He is more than ‘expert’ in everything, omniscient, omnipotent, and created everything in the first place, so why not trust Him to know what He is doing? Lord open our eyes to see You in everything in our lives – help us not to overlook how you may be speaking to us, even through the cleaner at the RV park or our next door neighbor…….or….through our bothers and sisters who are infilled with You. You can use anything….help us to see and hear and not block You out. Thank you Lord…..
