“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:2)
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Ephesians 4:22-24)
“Lord we desire to be transformed by you and allow your Life to be expressed through us. We desire to walk in the Light of your spirit.
Reveal to us those things in our life that need to be made anew. Allow us to discern between flesh and spirit so that we can choose to walk by your spirit.
Continue to give us spiritual awareness of how we cannot improve ourselves and it is not your will to do so. Be our help in understanding that you want to transform us into something new altogether. Our old life and way is gone and our new life and way is found in you.
When our mind becomes anxious and doubtful, grace us to turn to you and allow you to be our peace and trust. By grace, we will choose to turn away from each anxious and doubtful thought and speak your life instead. Even if our emotions and feelings don’t change, we will believe and stand firm on your truths. It is in this newness of mind that we are transformed by faith.
When our spirit is weary and wants to give up in this spiritual journey with you, grace us Lord to remember that our burdens in this life on earth are not ours to worry about, carry, or figure out. Only with a simple shift in our mind, we can cast these burdens upon you by simply declaring that you are our strength and our steadfastness. We allow your work of transformation in our life as we let go of our own striving to hold it altogether and humble ourselves before you.
Lord, we are spiritual beings and we are yours. Open the eyes of our heart to see how you are revealing your truths to us in our everyday life.
It is in our everyday choices of turning away from our old life and allowing you to live through us that we are transformed more and more into who you have created us to be–which are beautiful expressions of you.
Lord have your way. Amen.”
