The Eternal Purpose

A Change of Possession

We’ve been talking about God’s eternal purpose, His ultimate intention, His divine design for creation. Over the past two months, we’ve discussed His desire for a House and a Family. In the next couple of months, we’ll look into His desire for a Bride and a Body for the Son. If you’re really into Jesus, this is exciting stuff!

I don’t know if you noticed, but everything listed above is wholly about and for one person: God. This is His House, His Family, His Bride, His Body. This eternal purpose stems from the Father’s love for the Son through the Spirit. God then desires for that love, that expression of life, to be increased through us; that’s where we come in. It’s not for us nor about us. This is all for Him and about Him. Yet, we claim some form of possession over it.

I wrote an article based on these thoughts recently for our brother Daniel Passini’s blog, Living by Christ. The article is entitled A Change of Possession, and you can find it here.
